Vial of Life Program

South Mason Fire & Rescue offers the Vial of Life Program, a simple but important tool that helps first responders quickly access critical medical information during an emergency.

The Vial of Life is a small container that holds a form with important details such as your medical conditions, medications, allergies, emergency contacts, and physician information. The vial is typically stored in your refrigerator, a location emergency responders are trained to check. A sticker placed on your front door or refrigerator alerts responders that this information is available in your home.

Having this information readily available can help emergency personnel provide faster, safer, and more accurate medical care, especially when a patient may be unable to communicate.

This program is free for residents within our district and is especially helpful for seniors, individuals with medical conditions, or anyone who wants to be better prepared for an emergency.
