Smoke Alarm Program

South Mason Fire & Rescue is committed to keeping our community safe by ensuring every home has working smoke alarms. Through our Smoke Alarm Program, we provide free smoke detectors to residents within our fire district. 

Working smoke alarms are one of the most important tools for early fire detection and can provide the critical time needed for you and your family to safely escape during a fire. If your home does not have smoke alarms, if your alarms are outdated, or if you need help maintaining them, our firefighters are here to help. 

- As part of this program, firefighters can: 

- Install free smoke alarms in your home if needed 

- Check existing smoke alarms to ensure they are working properly 

- Replace or change batteries 

- Help identify the best locations in your home for smoke alarms 

Our goal is to make sure every home in our district is protected with properly installed and functioning smoke alarms.
